FAQ
What are Matter smart blinds?
Matter smart blinds use a compatible motor to connect to a Matter smart-home system. Curtarra’s selected motorised roller and Roman blinds use Matter over Thread. Choose Motorised when ordering; a manual cordless version of the same product does not provide Matter connectivity.
What equipment do I need for Matter over Thread?
You need a compatible Matter controller and a Thread border router. One supported device may provide both functions. Check the exact model, generation, software, and platform requirements before ordering; not every smart speaker or hub supports Thread. A front roll Wi-Fi router alone is not a substitute for this equipment.
Do these blinds work with Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa, and SmartThings?
The Matter-enabled motorised configuration can connect to supported Matter setups in Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and SmartThings. Compatibility requires the appropriate controller, Thread border router, and current platform support. Available voice commands, scenes, schedules, and remote access vary by platform.
How do I pair and control my Matter smart blinds?
Follow the instructions supplied with your motor to enter pairing mode, then add the shade in your supported smart-home app by scanning its Matter setup code. The code is located on the shade’s headrail. Assign a room and name in the app. The motorised option also includes remote control; keep the setup code accessible for future configuration.
Are Matter smart blinds blackout, and how should I choose a style?
Matter connectivity controls the motor, not the fabric’s light-blocking performance. Choose blackout roller fabric or available blackout lining for stronger light control, solar blinds for filtered daylight, or Roman blinds for fabric-led styling. Solar weaves do not guarantee nighttime privacy. Even blackout fabric or lining can leave edge gaps, so follow the product’s measuring and mounting guide.
Made-to-Measure Blinds for Your Matter Smart Home
Bring your windows into your smart-home routine with Curtarra Matter smart blinds. Explore roller, solar, and Roman designs with an available motorised configuration, combining bespoke sizing with convenient control through a compatible Matter-over-Thread setup.
Choose roller blinds for a streamlined profile, solar styles for filtered daylight and outward visibility, or Roman blinds for fabric texture and decorative folds. The collection includes textured solids, patterned fabrics, relaxed Roman styles, and selected trim designs. Light control depends on the chosen fabric and lining, not on smart connectivity.
Select Motorised under lift controls when ordering. Manual cordless configurations are not Matter-enabled simply because they appear on the same product page. For smart-home control, you need a compatible Matter controller and Thread border router; these functions may be combined in one supported device. Check the exact model and generation of your equipment before purchase.
After fitting, follow the supplied motor instructions to enter pairing mode and scan the shade’s Matter setup code in your supported smart-home app. Compatible platforms include Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and SmartThings, subject to your controller and setup. Voice control, schedules, and scenes depend on the chosen platform.
Measure according to the selected product’s guide and motorised size limits. Compare fabric samples and available lining before ordering. Solar fabrics do not guarantee nighttime privacy, and blackout fabric or lining does not eliminate light gaps around the installed shade.
