Buying custom curtains online can feel like a leap of faith. Will the color look right in my lighting? How do I measure a complex 5-panel bay window? What if the fabric I want is out of stock?
At Curtarra, we believe you shouldn't have to guess. Today, we’re taking you behind the scenes of a real design journey with one of our customers, and her dedicated Curtarra consultant, Ashley.

1. Turning a "Stock Issue" into a Style Opportunity
The customer originally had her heart set on our Elliot 100% Linen collection, which was temporarily out of stock. Instead of a generic "check back later" email, Ashley stepped in immediately. She curated a list of similar textures and tones, introducing the Lesley Linen Blend as a high-quality alternative that offered the same sophisticated look with even better durability.
The Lesson: We don't just take orders; we find solutions.
2. Visualizing the Impossible: Custom Mockups
The customer faced a common decorator’s nightmare: three very different window types.
-
A massive focal-point window.
-
A kitchen sink window where she wanted privacy for only the bottom half.
-
A complex, curved 5-panel bay window.
To eliminate the guesswork, Ashley didn't just send links—she created custom 3D mockups. By layering our digital fabrics over the customer’s actual room photos, the customer could see exactly how a Roman shade would look over her sink and how the drapes would hang in her bay window before spending a single dollar.
3. Precision Down to the Quarter-Inch
"Is this 'Beige Gray' or 'Warm White'?" Screens can vary, but home decor shouldn't. When the customer was torn between shades, Ashley took high-resolution, side-by-side photos of physical fabric swatches in natural light.
By comparing the Sabrina, Elliot, and Lesley collections in one frame, the customer could see the subtle weave patterns and light-filtering differences. Coupled with Ashley’s technical help—verifying measurements down to the 1/4 inch—the customer felt the confidence that only comes from expert human guidance.
4. Transparency You Can Trust
During the process, a brief technical delay occurred in sending over the designs. Rather than making excuses, Ashley was upfront: "I apologize for the delay; I take full responsibility."
In a world of automated chatbots, this level of human accountability is why our customers stay with us for the long haul. It’s not just about the product; it’s about the partnership.
5. The Perfect Ending: The Return of a Favorite
The best part of the customer’s story? Just as her measurements were finalized, Ashley noticed the Elliot Linen had arrived back in stock. She immediately notified the customer and secured her favorite fabric.
