Frequently Asked Questions About No Drill Roman Shades
Everything you need to know about our renter friendly shades—from installation to measurements to protecting your security deposit.
How does your no-drill system work?
We exclusively offer an innovative tension system headrail. This system uses pressure to hold the shade securely inside your window frame, requiring no tools, screws, or adhesives for installation.
How should I operate the shade to make sure it lasts?
Always guide the shade gently by its bottom rail when raising or lowering it. Do not yank or pull forcefully, as this sudden movement could dislodge the tension system headrail.
What is the best surface for installing these shades?
The tension system works best against solid, flat surfaces like wood, vinyl, or tile frames. We do not recommend installing directly against drywall (plasterboard), as the constant pressure may dent or damage the surface over time.
What are the key requirements for my window frame to be compatible?
For a successful installation, your window frame must meet three key criteria:
Frame Type: It must be a solid, single-piece frame. The system is not suitable for joined/multi-part frames as the pressure could push them apart.
Surface: The inside mounting surface must be flat and at a 90-degree angle. It is not compatible with curved, angled, or decorative molding.
Depth: You need a minimum depth of 1 5/8 inches (4cm). We strongly recommend at least 2 inches (5cm) for the most secure fit and to allow room for the fabric stack when the shade is raised.
They are perfect for apartment living, rentals, and standard, single-window openings with a solid, flat interior frame.
