The header is the top of the curtain. It sets the look, how the folds hang, and how the curtain moves on the rod.
It also changes the finished size we make for you, which is why we ask for it first.
Guidance on Curtain Header Style →
When curtains are open they gather into a stack at each end. If the rod stops at the frame, that stack sits on the glass and blocks your light and view.
We suggest 6–15" on each side. Go wider for a more generous look, or narrower if the wall is tight.
Guidance on Curtain Stack Back →
Split — two panels that open from the middle and stack on both sides. The usual choice, and what most windows look best with.
Single — one panel that draws to one side. Good for narrow windows, doors, or when there’s wall space on only one side.
Fullness is how much fabric goes across your window. At 2.0× we use twice your coverage width (your rod width, or your window plus the extension you chose), and that surplus is what gathers into soft, deep folds.
2.0× for drapes — rich and full without looking heavy.
2.5× for sheers — light fabrics need more gathering to look luxurious.
Lower numbers give a flatter, more tailored look.
1/2" above the floor — a clean, floating look. Easy to vacuum under and it stays clean. This is what we recommend.
Kiss floor — the hem just touches. The most tailored of the three, and the least forgiving of an uneven floor.
2" puddle — the fabric pools softly on the floor for a softer, more romantic room.

Step 2
Our dedicated ripple fold track system is available.
Step 3
Frame outer edge to edge(finials excluded), enter the whole U-length for the return Rod.
Step 3
To provide max window exposure, let drapery rod extend at least 6-15 inches on either side.
Step 4
Measure straight down from the top of the window frame to the floor. We’ll add the rod height on the next step.
Step 4
We recommend curtain rod to be as high as possible, 2-3 inches below the ceiling.
Step 5
Split panels open from the middle and stack on both sides. A single panel draws to one side.
Step 6
Fullness is how much extra fabric goes into the folds. At 2.0×, your curtains use twice your coverage width in fabric — that’s what creates a soft, full drape. Sheers look best at the fullest setting.
Step 7
1/2” above the floor keeps the hem clean and easy to vacuum under. Kiss floor just touches. A 2” puddle pools softly on the floor.
